FAQ's

1. How long will it take my child to learn to swim?

Every child is different and unique in their own way!  If your child is currently unable to swim on their own then they will be able to swim in 1-2 consistent sessions.  If your child can already swim we will continue to work on their technique and develop their skills further.

2. How many sessions should I sign my child up for?

Daily practice of swimming skills is important!  The more your child is in the pool learning how to be a safe swimmer the better swimmer they'll be.  We reccomend signing your child up for 1-2 sessions to begin with to guartanee they learn how to be water safe.  You can always sign your child up for more sessions at anytime (space permitted).

3. I'm not sure what level to sign my child up for.  How do I decide this?

On the first day of swim lessons ALL of the children are tested by our experienced instructors to insure they're placed in the correct swim class.  Read about our skill level descriptions on the Program Details page and give us your best guestimate.

4. What happens if I have to miss a class?  Can I make up a missed class?

If you miss class for any reason we do NOT have make-up classes.  Our only exception is for weather related issues for our outdoor summer locations.

5. What if I sign up my child and they don't like it?

Learning to swim isn't just an important life skill it's a NECESSARY one!  Although some children might get upset the first few days of swim lessons, most children will end up loving the water!  Give your child a chance to get to know and trust their swim teacher.  If your child has never been in a pool before this might take a few days.  Trust the process and watch your child thrive!

6. How early should I arrive for swim class?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your child's class start time to ensure you have enough time to park and get your child dressed and ready for their lesson.

7. How do I know my child's ready to move to the next level?

Your child's swim teacher will be communicating with you throughout the 2 week session about how your child is progressing.  Please feel free to ask them any questions you have about your child's progress.  Your child will recieve a report card on the last day of swim lessons that will let you know how your child did and what level they need next.

8. Do you have a refund policy?

Refunds: May be requested until two weeks before the beginning of the session and will be subject to a $25 fee. Within two weeks of the session and after the session has begun, no refunds will be issued for any reason.

9. Can my child participate if I'm late?

Yes, your child can participate if you're late.  Just keep in mind that each lesson is 45-60 minutes long and it is VERY important that your child gets the full time to learn how to swim.

10. Does my child have to be potty trained to participate in swim lessons?

Yes, all children must be potty trained to participate!  No water diapers accepted.
